Thanks, I shall apply this kind of coloring to not only Japanese Anime animation, but also to illustrationĪbout hand-drawn lines of animation drawing. I apologize if I have posted details that might not be relevant, but I wanted to share why I don’t use RETAS at the moment. The blur effect from OLM doesn’t really work on Mac though. Since it was free, I downloaded it and tested out, and I preferred this (in my opinion) over CSP’s smoothing function. This is one of the reasons why I chose CLIP STUDIO to mimic some of these processes such as the procedure on how they make Japanese anime and the painting process.įor After Effects, like you said, they use a plug-in for smoothing from OLM. I don’t want to get it illegally with an English patch In other words, it’s hard to buy the software outside of Japan without going into its Japanese website. And the last is that in order for me to get it legally, I either have to pay for it on CLIP’s Japanese site (which I can use translate) using actual yen or CLIPPY GOLD, which I can earn by paying or doing contests if they have the prizes.

Next problem is that I’m still a beginner in Japanese, so I can’t read too much Japanese yet. My Mac OS is Big Sur and like Celsys said, it doesn’t run on Mojave or higher, unless I run Crossover which runs Windows software on Mac. If you’re talking about the uncolored image in the second photo, then sorry about that, it’s just my Mac Screen capture, everything was anti-aliased when I exported for Paintman, I just posted the one I got from my screen capture. Which image are you talking about with slight anti alias? If it’s the one that has full anti-alias, then like I said, I draw everything anti-alias and export everything as anti-alias turned off. It could be another useful feature I can look into. The one you said that sets the gradation to 2 from Color correction, I actually didn’t use that feature.

I found that feature useful, even if I didn’t have RETAS. They also used anti-aliasing, but when they click the Export for Paintman feature, it automatically turns off anti-aliasing when exported, which makes it a lot faster than trying to find ways to turn it aliased. I only saw the “Export for Paintman” feature when I watched a Japanese tutorial on CSP animation (with English Subs). Drawing anti-aliasing in my opinion is better and cleaner, and also for me I can see where I made the joints better.ģ. Plus, it’s not really clean for me when comparing to draw with pencil and paper which acts like anti-aliasing.Ģ. I did try to draw with antialiasing off from the past, but I feel like I made mistakes during the process and I feel like I didn’t really join anything together. Thanks I can see that aliasing while drawing is important, but I draw and animate with anti aliasing with few reasons:ġ.
